Default Wiring Question

Anyone here running the amp power wire (4ga from batteyr) along side RCA and speaker cables? I've always heard to keep them separate so the power wire won't cause any interference noise.
Will this cause unwanted noise???

Thanks

most RCA wires are shielded so there shouldn't be any problems. Mine are all ran next to each other with no problems.

I had the speaker and power wires run together for about a month or so... I didnt have any problems... Now the power wire is on the passengers side, the speaker and rca's are in the middle...

Just wanted some reassurance. I am installing a system now and want to make absolutely certain before I button everything up. Don't want to have to remove all this plastic crap ever again... I hope I don't end up with a bunch of rattles once it's all said and done. All this plastic usually never goes back the same way it came in.

I did notice that the RCA cables have a kind of aluminum wrap that can be seen through the insulation. I thought may be that meant they are insulated against electrical interference.
Thanks

So true... Sometimes the platics line up fine but not the way they were...

The RCA cables are shielded but it is still recommended that you do not run the two side-by-side. JL Audio's web site had that warning in it IIRC. Technically DC shouldn't couple anything into a shielded wire but there will be some changes in the current as the music makes depands ... that changing current is going to cause the magnetic fields around the power wires to change which could couple back into the RCA's. If you seperate them by the four inches that ought to be enough.
