Default Valentine 1 Phone Cord Routing

Can someone please take a moment to explain how to run the phone cord along the headliner and down the A-pillar without messing anything up? How should these materials be pulled back such that I can slide the phone cord beneath them. Furthermore, I do I need anything other than a fuse tap to wire the Valentine 1 in?

Thanks,
Mike

Just tug on the A pillar and it will pop loose. Once off you'll see OEM wires to which you can tape/wire tie the V1's cord. With the passenger's side off you can run the wire down the hole behind the duct and the airbag area and drop out right where the passenger's toes would be. It's a short run to the power outlet from there, not much further to the fuse box.

For the headliner, you can just use the edge of a credit card to tuck the wiriing up there.

You don't need to take the a-pillar off if you don't want to, I didn't, I just ran the cord along the seem down to the fuse panel then just fished the cord thru the top and I was done. Use the Mini Add A Circuit if you can, makes the job ez.

Paul,

I had to tug pretty hard, but the A-pillar came off. Thanks for the advice, it worked great.

Hitop,

Where can I buy the Mini Add a Circuit? Couldn't find it at radioshack.com.

All,

If I use a regular fuse tap, which fuse should I tap.

Thanks for all the help.

Glad to see others are using their credit cards correctly!

I got my mini add a circuit at PepBoys.

I think I used the lighter fuse, but I'm not sure.....

After you take off the cover to the fuse panel, if you look on the back of the fuse panel you'll notice that all the fuses are laid out and named. Just use the fuse for the cig lighter.

Basically, you'll remove the cig lighter fuse then pop the mini add a circuit into that spot, then you'll use the small fuse that came with your V1 and put that into the add a circuit where you see the red wire coming out of, then place the cig fuse into the other slot and ur done. One thing to be aware of, if you turn on ur car and the V1 doesn't power up, you need to turn the add a circuit around 180 degrees.
