hi everybody,

i bought the bose sound system with my new z, but niw waŽnt to change the head unit.would the system work fine with another head unit????
which one should i choose??? and how did i get the bose unit out???

i know maybe there is another thread in this forum with my prob,but could please help me either.

most aftermarket head units should work fine...i have a Sony CDXM9905X unit...i like it a lot...TV quality screen, but the only downside is that there's no iPod controls...kenwood, pioneer, and alpine have good units with ipod controls

 

You're going to need a wiring adapter - about $10, a mount about $20, you'll have to then by-pass the Bose main and subwoofer amplifiers, and possibly someone to install the unit for you. I would recommend changing out the speakers as the Bose ones are ... ah ... challenged.

Figure about $300-$400 in labor without going into the custom end of things. Parts can run any where from a few hundred to several thousand.

 

So the recommendation would be when replacing the head unit to replace the amp(s) at the same time? If you had to pick one item to replace first would it be front speakers, rear speakers, sub, sub amp or head unit?

 

hm.so it was not a good idea to took the bose system with the car?? or??

i want to install the kenwood DDX8027 or something like this.
