Default Which Gauge wire to hook HU to speakers?

It seems like ya'll are using your own wires instead of the factory wiring.
I'm getting a Pioneer DEH-P80MP which has 60 watts x 4 and 27 watts RMS.

Should I use the factory wiring or add my own wires? Which gauge wire should I use?

If I use the factory wires it would end up going into the Bose Amp right? Is there anyway I can yank the Bose amp out and reconnect both ends of the wiring together so its like a normal car?

The factory ones feel about 20-22 gauge. Run 12 or 14 guage if you want to, the stock wiring is going to handle 27 watts without a problem.

Yes, you can connect the input and output wires together where the Bose amp use to be. I did that while waiting for my subwoofers to arrive.

Wow you hit the bullseye with that diagram and picture. That's just what I needed. I'll keep the factory wiring now, because that looks alot easier than adding my own wires.

Paul, did you have to chop off the connectors that connected to the amp?

Cool ... with this setup ... what would happen if you left that thing connected while waiting for your subwoofer(s) to arrive? Any negatives?

+1 on Paul350z's post. You should be ok. The Bose output is still going to put out what it's suppose to. Your change in input wattage will not effect the amp's output(wattage wise). Me personally, I'd bypass the amp to avoid any complications.

I have the same headunit. Stock wires are fine.
