Default Kenwood DDX 8017 ??

I recently installed my new head unit amps etc. The problem I'm having is the supplied face plate dosn't fit very well. I have it off right now and it looks like #2%. My question is when you installed yours did you use an after market intall kit or did you use the kit that came with the head unit like I did?

I used this
Also known as the metra single din dash kit. It required small ammount of triming the bottom half out. It fits very well for the location.

I didn't use the supplied piece (the one that came with the head unit). Mine looks fine.
