Default Am, Fm, Cd, Dvd, Navi

Anyone have any advice on what the best unit is for a AM, FM, CD. DVD with a navigation system? I would want to be able to view thw navi and DVD while going down the road. I also do not want to have to put a CD in to acess the info for navigation. I haver a TomTom right now and I thik its the coolest thing.

You might want to check out some of the systems at: www.eclipse-web.com I just installed the AVX2494. It does not have NAV, but does have AM, FM, CD, DVD, Music Juke Box and Memory Stick. I don't carry cd's now that I am uploading to the 20GB hard drive. They have similar systems with NAV. Oh yes, I can "while going down the road" thanks to the installer.

None of the Pioneer products meet your requirements so why not keep your Tom Tom and just add the rest of the music system?

You'll need something with a hard drive as there's like 2-3 GB worth of data on those DVD's.

The Pioneer units will store like 16 square miles worth of designated data in the head end when the DVD disk is removed. If you drive outside that area you need to put the disk back in. I do like the ability to talk to the thing and get voice guidance over the stereo system rather than just the tiny GPS speaker.

I have Garmin iQue in the SUV and if you're listening to the music the tiny speaker just doesn't cut it. With the Pioneer you can set the voice guidance volume seperate of the music level so "Betty" isn't shouting at you.

Eclipse's top-of-the-line unit, the AVN 5435(I think that's the model #, but I may be wrong) combines everything you want plus has an in-dash 30GB hard drive that copies tracks from a CD when you put one in.
