Need help with installation
Hey,
I am installing the SIR-PNR1 to my AVIC-N2 navigation. The head-unit is located under the passenger seat. The SIR-PNR connects via IP-Bus to teh head unit under the seat. However there is a power cable which is only about 1-2 feet long that the instructions state to connect to the battery. Obviously it will not reach. The power line states it is +12VDC. oes anyone have any clues on where I can connect the power line to?

I was thinking about that, just seems like there should be something to connect it to. I doubt this would even reach a battery from anywhere in the car, there has to be something I can connect it to. I am just not very electrtional savvy to know what to connect it to.

12 volt acc source, like the remote turn on from the headunit. that's where i'd connect it since the sir-pnr only has to be on when the headunit is on. or you can connect it to the cig lighter and it will always be on when the car is on.

Sweet, I will try installing this when I get home today. I will do a search for it now, but does anyone have the removal instructions to get to the cigarette lighter between the seats to accomplish this?

i'd actually suggest splicing into the remote turn on wire from the avic-n2. you already have to run the wire to connect the ip-bus, so you might as well run the power that way too. that way you have less panels to take apart (and it's easier to get to the back of the headunit than to the cig ligther anyway).
