Default Newbie advice

I'm not a big audio guru.. However, I know the stock (non bose) components are trash. So far I've installed the AVIC-n2 but now need advice on speakers and a amp..

I do not need/wand a crazy or expensive system. I am not getting a sub-woofer for now. So what am I looking to get? A 4 channel amp? component speakers in front? Am I going to run into fitment issues with aftermarket speakers on the doors? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

You want a 4-channel amp with component speakers in front. Some people say it's pointless to replace the rears because they don't do much.

For speakers grab your favorite CD's and visit a few stores to check them out. You're auditioning the front speakers primarly. Most people get componets with sperate tweeters and mid-bass drivers. Mounting the tweeters up above ankle level helps the sound a bunch.

The mid-bass is 6.5", you'll need a spacer. Check E-bay for one made by Mike at Zenclosures - $20 a pair and custom made to fit the Z's stock holes. The rear speakers are 6.5" too and you'll either need to replace them or disconnect the bloze speakers. The subwoofer is a 10" and if you want to replace it you'll need to find a "free air" woofer or put a regular woofer into a custom box of some sort.
