Ive been patiently waiting for the 5495 to become sirius ready. Being that my Bose HU took a Cr*p on me its time for the upgrade, but i dont wanna settle. Please tell me that there are plans to release the 5495 with sirius.

 

Oh well, no replies. I guess no news. if anyone gets any please let us know. specially cause theres that Consumer electronic show coming up.

 

You might as well wait now because the 2006 models will be out or shown like you said at CES. In Janurary I asked for a CES brochure from Eclipse and recieved one 7 days later. Unless you are attending. I would openly predict that they will have an HDD unit w/ Sirius jusging from their recent release of the AVN7000. Unfortunately it doesn't have music juke like the AVN5495 or its Japan counterpart. But look at the Japan website, they have really cool new DD units which I think Eclipse will be bring over. ( one is HDD 30g Nav/ music juke w/ 6cd changer and 5.1) !

 

Just wanted to add too, I had ordered one in Aug thinking Eclipse was having software that you could add to it but I got mixed infor from my dealer and Eclipse and just went for the 5435 w/ sirius. As of now , there are no plans to add it --officially. But, I thought about it before installing it and connecting to the sirius link to see if it would work and come up on the Menu screen. there may be a legal issue because you can record broadcasts and cds with the music juke feature. Buti don't see why this would be an issue since Pioneer is comming out with the same type in 2006--only problem is it won't play dvds for the front seat.

Eclipse posted 2 new AVN receivers on its website... Still no 2din Sirius compatible unit with HDD... But they now have an iPod interface... And one of them has 2 DVD drives (one for map, one for movies, music.....) Looks nice... Anyone now the prices for these units yet?
