Default Urgent question about audio and stock navigation

I am basically looking to get an aftermarket headunit. Is it simple to put the wiring harness and din conversion in? Does it plug right into the stock harness? I was also wondering how a new headunit will affect the navigation's system of speech using the speakers. I have the bose system just to let you guys know. Please tell me if everything will work smoothly still.

Thanks in advance

If you dish the Bose HU, you have to dish the speakers and amps as well.

Yeah I heard that too. See the thing is there was also this guy that said he changed his head unit by just getting a wiring harness from best buy. He also said he had the bose system. So right now I'm just a little confused.

you dont have to get rid of the bose system just because you put a head unit in. it will work fine..just get the harness it plugs in..

True true, but any thoughts on the navigation? Will it still operate? Will it still have voice recognition? I'm kinda worried about that.

I think there have been some posts somewhere about this (couldn't find them right off the bat) ... if I'm not mistaken, the Nav system will still work, but you'll lose the voice unless you hook it up to a separate speaker. Some people have put that speaker under the driver's seat.

One caveat: I'm by no means an audio expert and am waiting to hear an answer from someone more experienced. However, I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night ...

Not true! Just replaced the Bose Double Din HU with the Eclipse AVX2494, 350Z Dash Kit from Crutchfield, plus 4ch Adjustable Line Output Converter and Bose Harness from Peripheral Electronics. Did not touch the speakers or amp. Unbelievable increase in sound performance. Plus, looks great!

But sung does it effect the stock navi though? The stock navi speaks through the stock speakers.
