Default anyone using a JL Audio 8w7?

other than this sub is awesome..my brother has 2 of them in his scion box,and wow not only are they clean but they do hit hard..the only down fall is there power hungry..if you plan on running just one i would suggest going with the jl 1000/1 ..at least, also box spec wise.1.75 cubic ft of air space is the min..

you wont be dissapointed i dont think. but for rock/punk you might want a sub more suited for playing that kind of music. plus theres other optins out there for a lot less.
and i think a 1000/1 ampmight be alittle overkill for the 8. im sure it can take it but i think it would be overkill

you could get away with using a 500/1 but the thing is its always better to have have more power than not enough.thats what the gain **** is for..

I have a 8w7 its rated for 250-300 watts rms if you have a 1000\1 I think it would explode.

8w7 250
10w7 500
12w7 1000
13.5w7 1000
