Default Japanese products?

What other sites can I order Alpine products (available in Japan) from? I already know about Meltingpot.com. Any other ones out there?

I think the only way you can get that is if you have a contact in Japan. I think thats the new screen for their Hard Drive nav system (saw it b4 the holidays in tokyo)

I wish that were true, but unfortunately the Alpine PXA-H700 won't be available here in the US until ~May (although it is available in Japan, Germany and (maybe) Mexico). I really want this piece of equipment to finish my installation so I might have to shop overseas or go with the PXA-H510 that I already own and trade it out once it's available. It will retail for $850 so I don't really want to take a chance, buy overseas, and be stuck without a warranty.

I spoke with an Alpine representative, and he told me that the Alpine PXA-H700 will be available in Febuary. The IVA-D900 will be available in mid March. Prices:

PXA-H700........850.00

IVA-D900.........2200.00

Thanks, that encouraging. I do have someone in the "industry" trying to get one earlier, but then again February is only a couple of weeks away.

Also, Toronto350Z posted a couple of sites in another thread (plus I added one) that exports Japanese electronics (which is what initially drew me to this thread) so here they are in case anyone else needed them:

PriceJapan

The Melting Pot

Here's a thread by Jeffa on his install (not really a review but at least will give you an idea of what it would look like):Clarion VRX925VD. I found it by using forum search with the model number (hint, hint ).

Wow...the Clarion VRX925VD is one sweet system. I have the Metra kit...and now I've found the perfect multimedia unit to fill it. Now, I just have to scrape up the $$$ to buy it!

Kind of off topic, but I didn't really like the setup. It, as well as any other unit with a "pop out" screen, pretty much renders the navigation area useless. In addition the screen is a little lower by about 4" and toward the back by about 4". I considered both options (I was looking at an Alpine unit like this unit or with a separate screen in the Nav screen spot) and decided it would be worth the little bit of extra money to go with "separates". There's no question it's a nice piece of equipment, but I'm not sure it's for this car.

If you do not have the stock navigation unit, then I would also go with doing seperates. Put the screen where the navigation screen would go. In my case I already have the stock navigation. So I am going to put the new Alpine screen (not out yet) w/ the 5.1 processor below it.
