Default radar detectors

any info on the new solo 2 cordless... how does it stack up against the rest of the higher end pack of detectors?

Best ones on the market are the Escort 8500, Bel 985, and the Valentine V1...the solo 2 cordless is nice but range isn't as good.

I just bought the Solo S2 and spent all weekend driving around just to test it out. So far, I'm not impressed. It picks up a lot of junk and completely failed to detect two patrol cars who were sitting on the turnpike with radar units. If I'd really been speeding, I would have been fried. However, I also happened to be directly behind a cop at an intersection when he turned his radar on a car speeding across in front of us. I got a good blast from the S2 on that one. The suction cups won't stick to a cold windshield. Will update after more experience.
