Question Antenna?

Hey everyone. Alot of people told me to change the stock antenna to some other type (small i guess)

Wehre would I find one of these antennas? Any ones better than others with reception? Also how much would one of these bad boys cost me?

Thanks!

You can go to any Honda dealer and buy the S2000 antenna for around $20.00 that is what most people do. Don't go with the ebay special (1 inch antenna or anything like that) because those are mostly non-amplified antennas and you will recieve little to no reception.

I find the s2000 antenna is still too long for the 350Z, I went with a stubby Antenna to make the 350Z even more slick.

Here are some closer shots of it, gave me an excuse to see the car underneath the car cover *sniff*

I have the S2K antenna and it works great, no loss of reception over stock. Other people use the Honda Element antenna & Lexus IS300 antenna as well.

I think you can also get Honda Civic Hybrid or Element ones for about $12, I think and they are very similar to S2k antenna.

Honda S2000 antenna - the reception is pretty good. I'm 52 miles away from the majority of LA's FM transmitters and I only lose signal in underpasses.

The antenna they use on the Honda Element is the same as the S2000, it just doesn't have the nub on the tip like the S2000.

Got it off Ebay for like $6 bucks. I just tried looking for the same sale and it isn't there anymore. But I'm sure there are a lot of other stubby antenna's out there on Ebay. just do a such for "350z antenna". There use to be a ton of them listed with that such, now there are very few.

But I must warn you, I'm a city boy and have not yet done a road trip outside of town to test the stubby antenna. Inside and around the suburbs, the AM and FM reception is incredible. I have never tried testing the radio out pass say... 60KM.

This stubby Antenna was my first mod. Funny story is that the first day I drove the car with the antenna, some guy in a truck yelled out to me that he had a 350Z and he liked my antenna and wanted to know where I got it. You know a person's a car enthusiats when he can spot such a sutble change

Yeah, most people do the S2000 antennas... they're not exactly flush at the base though - they're a bit fatter if you care. Mike, a mod on here, recommended the Altezza (JDM Lexus IS300) antenna off ebay. I bought one for $15 off ebay; it's perfectly flush and the reception is fine. I forgot how long it is, but it's similar in length and look to the S2K antenna as well.

forgot one thing, S2k antennas are not as glossy looking as Z.. its very dull rubber like.. you can tell in my picture i heard the IS300 antenna fits wonderful, but the reception sucked major.. not sure about your area though

Once again, those ARE NOT amplified antennas like come one the 350Z OEM. you will not get the same reception. They might work good in some areas, but very BAD in others. You may get ZERO recepetion at all. A lot of the "stubby" antennas sold are nothing more than an aluminum pole that screws to your car. Hell, cut a coat hanger real short paint it black and there you go. you got yourself a stubby antenna.

You want something "cheap" go to ebay. You want something known to work go with OEM or brand name. You get what you pay for in most cases.

Some people even cut the OEM antenna...

At least you know it fits perfectly!

I have a Nissan Murano Antenna. I like it, it looks different. It's not cheap though and i'm sure that not everyone will like it.
