you may also try to convert your stock antenna to a stubby.....use wire cutter to trim about 4 to 5 inches at the mid section (skinny part) of the stocker, leaving about 2.5" at the top section and 2.5" at the bottom section. Now use super glue to connect both ends with a 5" long black 1/2" rubber hose (from home depot).

Some of us do not care about the radio and just use our head unit. Hell, I have a dvd/cd/mp3 player I can't remember the last time I used the radio. So my stubby antenna suits me fine. And when I have used the radio. It has always worked in the city. LOL, on the rare occasion that I make a long road trip and find myself in the middle of nowhere, I'm sure my 10 gigs of mp3s will keep me busy.

And it's not like if you put on another antenna, you have to live with it forever. If you do go on long road trips, take the old antenna and put it on. It's not the end of the world, people.

You may get ZERO recepetion at all. A lot of the "stubby" antennas sold are nothing more than an aluminum pole that screws to your car. Hell, cut a coat hanger real short paint it black and there you go. you got yourself a stubby antenna.

You want something "cheap" go to ebay. You want something known to work go with OEM or brand name. You get what you pay for in most cases.
