Default Kenwood DDX 7015 - Navi Unit

I've already got the H/U and Siruis tuner installed. However, my friend is giving me a killer deal on the Navi/Mic unit. How hard it is to install? Anyone done it before?

I have the same unit in my car. If the HU is already installed it is prety easy to do. You have two wires that go from the HU to the NAV brain. Then a couple other wires on the brain for power and other things.

I found the NAV unit easier to install than the Head unit.

Can you play DVD-Rs with the 7015? The specs online say you can, but I can't seem to get mine to play them (just bought it).

Not sure if this helps but I think you need to do a specific type of format for DVD-R's and the HU can only play them if they are recorded in DVD-video format. I've got the 7045 (Aussie) version - it's on p5 of the instruction manual if you still have it.

It will play a DVD-R if it is burned as a video DVD. It can't play it if you leave it in MP3 format.

Crap, there must be something wrong with mine then.

Also, I thought it WAS supposed to play MP3 on DVD? That's what I bought it for! Will something like the DDX-6017 do so?
