Go to XM's web site. You'll need the serial number of your unit. Or just call them and they'll walk you through it.

A little more detail.

If you tune the radio to Channel 0, you'll see a bunch of letters and numbers. That's your Radio ID. Then, you can either call 1-800-XM-RADIO or go to http://www.xmradio.com/activation to activate the account. You'll save about $5 of the activation fee if you do it online, plus I understand you may be on hold a long time if you call.

Once you've activated your account, go straight to your car, turn the radio on, and go for a drive where you have XM reception. In fifteen to forty-five minutes, you should have all the channels. The longer you wait to turn on your radio, the longer it will take to activate, but if you do it immediately all should be fine.

As the above poster said, if you tuen to channel 0 or look at the original box the radi ocame in, it will have your receiver ID number. You can use that on the web to activate. It only takes about a munte before you hear music.

In order to activate my system I had to call them. Evidently there is an ID number attached to the radio unit. If you give them the radio's id# they should be able to help.

Just remember that you can save $5 ($9.99 instead of $14.99, I think) on the activation fee by doing it online!
