No problem! I'm doing it myself so I'm sure you'll be able to do it too. I just can't wait to get rid myself of the FM modulator - that thing sucks

If you've ever done any basic wiring, you can do it yourself. You're working in kind of tight quarters, but I installed mine and the Blitzsafe universal iPod adaptor in about 1.5 hours this weekend.

I've heard it should bring it up to cd quality, but if you simply plug some regular headphone into the Starmate.....Well it soulds like radio. I hope I'm way wrong, but radio is a ton better then the FM modulator if I'm correct.

so basically you just plug in the connector and then a power and ground?

i got my car back from the shop and they completely ignored what i had to say.....very bad customer service so i will probably tackle this myself.

I briefly read over the instructions, but that sounds correct. Too funny about you picking up your car and them being rude. Once you have everything installed be sure to let them know

Just a power and remote....not even a ground which I don't understand. Anyway...it's two wires...the instructions show you which two wires on the factory plug you need to tap and that's it. You're done.

I read through this entire thread and I have one more question that I hope you can assist with. I have the Sirius Remote Replay system that was installed on Saturday by Best Buy and sure enough it was hooked into the FM Modulator because it is the worse reception I have ever heard. i have an 06 Touring with Bose 6 CD changer and Nav. system. So all I need is the Soundgate AUX-NISS and I should be fine?

No....the aux-niss does NOT work on sat. ready head units. I'm not sure if the PAC AAI-NIS will work on '06 models or not. You'll have to contact PAC Audio to find out.

I feel your pain regarding the worst reception. You need to go to the website and see if your particular model configuration will work w/ the auxniss. Maybe even chat/call the customer service dept. since you have all the options on your '06.

p.s. I'm expecting my auxniss via ups tomorrow

I just read the product description and realized it would not work. I'll have to do more research.

Arch...according to this:
http://www.pac-audio.com/products/pr...iliary%20Input

the aai-nis WILL work in your car. 2006 Z is on the list. This will convert your sat. inputs to aux. inputs.

wireless fm modulators should be banned in the U.S.

i am still waiting for my auxniss to come in...i am looking fwd to an easy install.....the only hard part for me is going to be hiding the wires....my receiver is mounted in the sunglass holder case so i have to remove the interior roof panelling. uh ohhh

Funny you mentioned banning FM modulators in the U.S., I've started a petition for that very law...LOL

I just received my auxniss and am planning on doing it tonight. Looks very simple to do. Lets hope I'm not over-confident.

I installed the auxniss last night and the reception is flawless... Don't have a clue why they would ever use FM modulators. Anyway, the install took a couple of hours, but it was well worth it.
