For those who have added new speakers to there doors that required a spacer......... did you make you own spacer out of MDF or did you purchase a spacer somewhere???? I am getting ready for my install and want to make sure i have all my supplies ready

SORRY The search function answered my question!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

What i did was use the factory plastic that held the OEM speaker in place. I took out the speaker and mounted my infinity reference speakers in. Their is like a small rim that runs around the plastic piece and thats where i drilled holes to mount the screws.

It may or may not work for you because i dont know the size of the magnet on your speaker.

Did anyone use the metra spacer? I have em sitting here, but I don't know if it will work until the car arrives. :P

 

I did what Selski12 did, but used some dynamat on the rim to make a good seal.worked great.

 

My shop made it out of MDF anf then carpeted it to act as a gasket...works great...Give me your email and I'll send you pics...
