Default Recommendations: Double-din HU for around $1000

Hey all, looking for recommendations on a double-din headunit for the Z. I did a search and saw some cool looking Eclipse headunits, but they all seem to be a little out of my budget.

This is what I'm looking for:
* Double-din HU from reputable company (e.g. Eclipse, Alpine, Pioneer, etc)
* Around $1000
* Does NOT have to have navi or DVD-playing capabilities (but I wouldn't mind DVD, I don't really need navi). These capabilities seem to be the main factor(s) in driving up the price on double-DIN headunits. I just want something that plays MP3's/audio.

Any recommendations?

Wow that looks really nice. But I just checked the specs and the 3 preouts are only 2V's. I was hoping for something with at least 4V. Thanks anyway

What you want
1) HIFI (24bit BB DAC, 5v preouts, CD 110db S/N), MP3, AUX IN HU
2) DD DVD LCD
3) <$1000.
doesn't exist...yet.

Since #1 & #2 was ~$1600, I chose #1 ($300 K889)
It must be very hard to design a DVD HU (+~50% current from
a single DIN LCD), and keep low noise in the CD section.
I am mystified folks are allured by brilliant Marketing to compromise
audio quality, at a much higher price, to watch DVDs on a tiny screen.

Your Amps have Gain ***** don't they? 2v is plenty, just get you a decent set of UTP RCAs and your Golden.

Can you play audio and DVD's at the same time? I'm assuming the DVD will not have any sound if you're playing audio..

649 for a 7017 is a steal. that is less than dealor cost. i work at best buy so i know what we pay for them.. if you can find one for 649 buy it. the 7017 is the 05 model. it replaced the 7015.. it may have been out in late 04 but technically its the 05 model.. and the 8017 is the 06 model thats replacing the 7017 i belive..

Too bad both K7017 and the K8017 can only specify their CD
pickups at 98db Signal to Noise. Thus my $300 HIFI K889
CD (110db) player blows away ALL video units in sound fidelity.
Car video is for Disneysitting kids in minivans.
I'm hoping Sony releases a SACD HU (120db) for true 5.1 HIFI.

Driving the Z playing clear music is magical.
