Default 06 NAVI Pod in Non-Nav Dash

UPS just delivered the Navi pod for an 06 Nav equiped Z. I want to put it in my 06 non-nav car along with a screen and dvd player and/or aftermarket nav. But I just noticed this uses a motor to open/close. Is there a harness already in the dash for this thing or am I going ot have to wire it myself?

Thats an 05 nav door. 06's do not have any kind of motorized mechanism.

Just a random question...why would you buy something without first checking to see if it will even fit or connect properly?

I dunno.. I just thought it would be something to try. I figured I wasn't the first so someone else might know about it. But if it won't work that's fine. I can use the parts in another application.

No I put a xenarc 7" in it. Fit's perfectly.

Also I talked to courtesy Nissan. They're saying that the early06's had this door too so it should fit my car, though mine's not going to be wired for it. Good news there. So now I just need the wiring harness for it and I can put it in.

Well I took it out to the car today. It looks the same. Has the same material etc. And Courtesy Nissan says it'll mount. So All I need to do it power it. I guess I could try to rewire it myself but I'd rather just get that harness for it.

ANyone have an 05/early06 that has this thing? Can you tell me how many wires come from the harness and um... where they go? I'm guessing just to an accessory power and a relay.

are you serious? i was told early on that it's a different material and color and that the latch won't even close right...so you can confirm it's the exact same cololr/material and it'll definitely close?

that's the whole reason i never got the cubby too

yeah it's th exact same. I could take a side by side pic later I guess. I don't know about the "latch". But since it open's and closes electonicly there is no latch on it. So that's a mute point.

Only thing keeping me from popping out the dash (besides the fact that I want to wait until all my parts are in) is that I can't get the harness that plugs into it.

Courtesy nissan is saying they can't get it. But that's crap. How hard is it to get one little plug?

y'know, i didn't even realize until now that you said 06 nav door, all along i was thinking you bought an 03-05 nav door...that's why i thought the materials and color wouldn't be the same

that's strange though, i've seen pictures of the nav equipped 06's and thought it didn't have doors anymore...did they have the later modelled '06 nav cubbies without a door (which is looks like it's the entire top portion of the center console)?

ps - what part # is that door, just for reference?

I don't know the part number. I got it here:

http://www.courtesyparts.com/Merchan...de=68250-Z3306

Apparently in early 06 they changed from this to the doorless one. Don't know why.

Still doesn't help my cause. I need that plud from the harness or it's just a box. Well.. I guess I could leave it open at all times, but that's lame.
