As many of you know, i paid zcar03 almost $300 to "professionally" build me a custom box to fit my 10" IDMAX subwoofer in an understrut way along with an amp rack. Basically i asked him to build exactly what Zenclosures is building right now for double the price. At the time Zenclosures wasn't manufacturing these yet.
His website is www.crazkustoms.com
The first box/rack he sent was an absolute disaster, wrong wood, wrong dimensions, didnt seal the box, forgot the terminal, didnt vinyl correctly, nothing was right.
I requested a refund. He denied a full refund.
I gave him another chance to build another box, he promised he'd finish the box over the weekend and have it shipped out the following monday. Well, that didn't happen of course, and it ended up getting shipped out a full week after that monday.
The new box looks a lot better, built from the right wood, it's sealed, has a terminal, etc. HOWEVER, he angled the face of the box where you mount the sub at a crazy crazy angle so that any sub that would have been placed in the hole to mount in the box would hit its magnet on the floor of the box. Not to mention i have a Imagine Dynamics IDMAX subwoofer putting out 1000watts RMS with a double stacked magnet...this just doesnt even come anywhere close to fitting my sub. The Amp rack looks decent, but it doesn't exactly fit right, it slides out of its spot everyday so im constantly pushing it back into place. Also there is an airbubble in the vinyl on the face of box that looks kinda crappy.
I am absolutely tired of dealing with this scammer and horrible craftsman Mike from crazkustoms (dont get him confused with Mike from Zenclosures) and i ended up flipping my sub over and mounting it magnet out. It looks kinda cool but now the space inside the box is too much for the sub and now i have significantly less trunk space which i dont like at all.
Sorry Mike, but your work absolutely sucks and i hope no one from this website ever messes up like i did and buys from you.
Also i would like to say if you're going to respond to this post don't bash too much and violate the ToS because then this thread will be closed. The whole point of this thread is to protect other Z bros from buying from him.

I go to school in San Diego and im in SD for the majority of the year.

This pic gives a better idea of how extreme the angle is

I may end up fixing it myself and revinyling it over spring break, i'm definately not shipping it back to Mike to "fix." I trust my own work a lot more than his and i would have built it myself in the first place if i would have had the extra time.

wow...
i mean uh...if the box height is only about 12", and the sub is a big sub like a idmax, it should be common sense to anyone that any angle more than say a few degrees will result int he sub hitting the botton of hte box...
where is the amp rack?

wow... their website is a disaster. you can tell from the box in the pic that it isn't well made. Two screws on the front and on top?? the screws should be spaced at 2" apart each. I coulda made a better one in my garage.

I want to remind people to also think before they post. This thread isn't to bash this guys product as much as to warn fellow Z drivers who not to buy from. I guess that may sound hypocritical, but those are my intentions with the thread so please try to critic rather than flame.
