DDX7017 install... no rear audio?
Okay, 2005 Base Z w/ non-bose unit. Picked up a Kenwood DDX7017 and hooked it all up, seemed like no rears. Went into the setup and went full fade to the rear... very, very minimal sound coming from them.
Initially I did not hook up the amp power control because I didn't think there were any amps for the non-bose setup. Figured maybe there was, so hooked up the Amp power wire and grounded the amp ground to chassis... still no dice.
I'm putting it all back together as I have appointments early in the morning, but would like to get it back apart and fixed. Anybody have any ideas? The results are the same regardless of what source I'm using.
And yes, I grounded the e-brake wire

i think there's a setting for the front speakers in setup that lets you select narrow wide or normal. if you pick normal the rear will be much louder. it's for a soundstage thing. OR MAYBE YOU SEAT IS JUST TOO FAR BACK
I had the same problem with mine so i bypassed the OEM wires and ran my own. I think there may be some kind of resister of sort that restricts out put to rear spkrs. I don't think that nissan wanted the rears to play at the same level as fronts. Not sure though, just my two cents...and a means to an end.
when i replaced mine, the factory non-bose speaker measured something crazy like 20 ohm (my have been a little more or less). They use the resistance of the speaker to cut the rear sound. Aftermarket speaker did play louder and needed to be faded off of to even out front to rear levels.
after adding aftermarket head unit on non-bose, is there anyway to get the rear speakers to sound normal without replacing them...like maybe an adaptor or something that can connected nehind the head unit? the problem is i dont want to remove all the rear panel to get to the rear speakers

32 ohms? Wow, i never bothered to check, but i did install a set of 4 ohms spkrs to the factory wires and still got the same results. Like i stated earlier, i just ran my own wires. It took quite a bit of work, but it work perfectly now and i'm happy with the results.
