As far as I can see (see pic of the back of my HU), I am "missing" the 12pin connection on my HU (I don't have the Nissan on any other SAT NAV device). So, I have purchased and installed the WRONG device Any suggestions as to what I actually need?? Thanks again everyone...

PAC also has the AAI-NIS2 out but from what I see, it still needs both the 10pin and the 12pin connection!

So...correct me if I'm wrong: I have a "Bose NON SAT ready" HU? Anyone out there with my same HU actually managed to connect the iPod? Is the only solution a NEW HU (of course I mean NON OEM)?

Are you guys sure this works with a factory Bose headunit that has a radio button? According to Crutchfield's website it's won't work with it!

I have an 05 ZR with Bose radio. I would like to be able to connect and charge my I-pod as well as an aftermarket Satellite receiver. This product seems to do exactly what I need. I would like to get it but I would like to verify it will work for me.

If you select 350z it says it will not work.

Yes it will work in the 2004 - 2005 USDM factory Bose Cd changer headunit. The 2003 Bose headunit lacks the 12-pin connector which was intendend for the factory SAT radio. The 2004-2005 Bose have the connector which is where the PA11-NIS plugs into. If you have factory SAT radio you will not be able to use it and the PA11-NIS at the same time (you must remove it). You can hookup an aftermarket SAT radio (or DVD-ROM, NAV, etc.) to the factory Bose since the PA11-NIS also has inputs for an auxilary device. If you want to be absolutly sure, take out the headunit out and look to see if you have the 12-pin connector.

I'm interested in your PA11-NIS. How much do you want for it? Is it brand new in the package or is it used? Why are you selling it?

I tried to PM you but it said that your box is full.

Default AFAIK 06 roadster owners are screwed

None of them work on the 06 roadster. I cant belive Nissan put a diffrent model Bose radio in the roadsters but the part numbers are diffrent the rear plugs are not compatible with any of the adapters

Default PA11-NIS with 06 stock Bose, no nav

Crutchfield says it doesn't work, USA-SPEC says it does, and I say it does. Just installed my PA11-NIS yesterday, and I have the scraped and bloody knuckles to prove it!

XtaZee's instructions made the crucial difference, so many thanks there. Crutchfield don't have a "master sheet" for the 06 w/o nav, but they sent me a bunch of pics & scanned handwritten instructions for the 03-05 without nav and the 06 with nav (it's a 10MB file, if anyone wants a copy, drop me a line), and between those, the instructions from discountcarstereo.com (http://discountcarstereo.com/pdf/pa11-nis.pdf - the source of XtaZee's wiring diagram) and XtaZee's added hints, I got it done in a couple of hours. My installation was complicated by the after-market airbag on-off switch which is installed in the cubby where the nav system would go, and because its cable limited how far I could pull the dash out, I had to remove the cubby from the dash too, so that made it more complex.

Bottom line - there's a lot of conflicting and incomplete information floating around out there about what does and doesn't work, so my "nuggets" of experience are:

1) The only way to know for sure is to take your radio out, and have a look at the back of it - if you don't have the 12-pin plug, you're SOL.
2) It looks like Nissan always hook up all the parts of the wiring harness, whether you have satellite radio, a remote changer or nav or not - so be prepared to unplug things on the back of your unit until you find the 10-pin and 12-pin plugs XtaZee mentions above - and, yes, I now have a dangling 12-pin plug from the factory harness hidden behind the radio that I had to leave disconnected, but that's apparently to be expected.

Ken
