AUX NISS Vs PA11-NISS
Ciao everyone, just a quick and probably silly question: anyone know what the difference between these two is? I am going to connect my iPod mini to the stock non SAT HU...any info welcome!

I looked into these but decided not to get one. Do a search or call the company directly. I believe there is one model for the Bose and one for the non-BOse. Also, when I contacted them last year they claimed it was for 03-04 years only and were working on '05+. Maybe that is also a difference you are looking at. You should search and maybe PM someone here, there are quite a few people that own these adapters on the forum. Good luck!

This is what I got from the techs at discountcarstereo.com...great customer service from what I gather:
"The AUXNISS is an audio input, you can connect any audio device to it and listed to it on the radio.. it does not charge or control the device.
The PA11-NIS is an iPod interface and auxiliary audio input.. as an interface it will control and charge ipod products from the iPod or from the radio.."
Hope this helps others in my same boat (if there are others out there wishing to connect an iPod to a stock HU with Bose and without a SAT, but a SAT button)...

I have the PA11-NIS in my 2006 G35 and its great. It works only if you dont have factory nav, thats where it plugs into. It allows you to use an IPOD as a CD CHANGER on your HU. It allows the use of factory controls (and steering wheel controls if equipped) to control the IPOD. Its great!.

i got the aux-niss and it didnt even work properly. Ended up returning it and getting a new head unit instead.
Keep in mind that discountcarstereo isn't an authorized soundgate retailer and you won't get any support from soundgate directly if you have any issues..

I've used my PA11-NIS in both direct (iPod control) and playlist (stereo control) modes.
Right now, I'm in playlist mode, but since the box is just under the passenger seat, it takes about a minute to change.
Playlist mode likes:
* Direct access via the "1-6" buttons to playlists "NISSAN1" through "NISSAN5" and all of the tracks on my iPod ("CD 6").
* Choosing a "disc" restarts playing that playlist from where it last stopped.
* I could leave the iPod connected and "buried" in my car, and it will start up where it stopped.
Playlist mode dislikes:
* I need to know the track number of the various songs for my musical mood of the moment.
* Always starts on disc 6 if the iPod has been disconnected and reconnected.
* Limited to the playlists assigned to "NISSAN1" through "NISSAN5"
Direct mode likes:
* Control via the iPod interface, so I can pick whatever track I want to listen to.
* Directly starts playing whatever I was previously listening to.
* Stereo controls permit next track/previous track and FF/REW.
* I can pick any playlist at any time.

* Changing playlists requires using the iPod interface. While it is a "one-hand" interface, it does require that you divert attention from the road.

I have received and installed the PA11-NIS only to find that my stock HU DOES NOT have an external CD changer output! Therefore my HU does not allow me to toggle between the indash CD changer and the iPod (or external CD changer). In other words I don't have the "brown" output plug...anyone have any pics of their PA11-NIS install just to make sure I haven't gone wrong with the install? What should I get instead?

I'm taking the dash apart this evening...this is what my HU looks like. I'll post pics of the rear also as soon as I get to it! Basically, I am pressing the CD6 button but the HU does NOT toggle between the indash 6-CD and the iPod

I followed the steps below to connect the PA11-NIS to my Bose headunit that is SAT ready (I also have factory NAV). All audio functions (cd, radio, etc.) are still working including navigation voice prompts.
This is what my headunit looks like.-
Back of headunit.-
There is a 10-pin male harness, a 10-pin female harness and a 12-pin male harness on the CAS-NIS cable that come with the PAC11-NIS.-
1/. Disconnect the 10-pin male harness that is connected to the headunit. On my radio, looking at the rear of the headunit from the front it was the one on the right, on the top row.
2/. Connect the 10-pin male harness from the CAS-NIS cable to the plug you just removed in step 1.
3/. Connect the 10-pin male harness that was connected to the headunit in step 1 into the 10-pin female harness of the CAS-NIS cable.
4/. Connect the 12-pin male harness from the CAS-NIS cable to the 12-pin CD/Changer/XM connector on the back of the headunit (If you're vehicle has XM or a extenal cd changer it must be disconnected). On my radio, looking at the rear of the headunit from the front it was the connector on the left, on the bottom row. There was a 12-pin male harness connected to the 12-pin connector which I removed in order to connect the one from the CAS-NIS cable, and left it disconnected.
5/. Connect the round DIN plug on the other end of the CAS-NIS cable to the PA11-NIS interface box labeled 'RADIO'.
6/. Plug the CB-PA14 iPod cable to the PA11-NIS adapter box labeled iPod.
7/. Connect the iPod to the dock connector and test operation.
8/. Reinstall radio.
