Satelitte radio question
I have an 06 touring with factory installed sirius. I am not a fan of it and was wondering if I could switch it over to XM? I had XM in my previous car and enjoyed it more the sirius.
What kind of CD player do you have? That changes the answer a lot. If you have one that is satellite ready (aftermarket...I don't know if the stock radio on the '06 is) then you need to change out the receiver and the antenna. that will cost about 100 plus install. most radios that are satellite ready can do both even though they advertise only one (I think that is a contract thing). If you don't have a satellite ready radio then you need to buy the unit to display and control the XM. that can cost 100 bucks and up depending on what you want.
And, just to start the war again....XM is WAY BETTER!!

I have the stock bose 6cd head unit. my window sticker says sirius satellite radio. I have the antenna on the roof. It is the 06 body colored one. What do I need to do to convert my car to XM and dump the sirius?
