Angry AVIC-D1 wiring Q? I think I am being worked over!

So, I got the Avic-d1 nav unit in my 05 Z. When I first got it installed there were no screens that came up when the car was started up. But after a week or 2 I took it back to the same place to have my subs installed. After they were done with the Z there came up a caution that said the parking brake is improperly installed. I understand that if it was wired up correctly then I would not be able to use some features of the Nav without being stopped, but what I am wondering is if there is a way to fix the problem without wiring it is the parking brake? also, is there a way to keep the XM connected to the channel that I left it on when I turn off the car and then turn it off? If this is something that everyone is dealing with let me know. Even with the small quirks the D1 is still a great unit! thanks for the help.

Here's the "proper" bypass on the new AVICs. You can't simply ground out the parking brake as the newer N2 and D1s have an inertial navigation sensor that detects that you're cheating.
