Pioneer Avic-n3
Guys,
Looking into buying this baby for my Z to replace my alpine 9833.
Right now, I have the AI (or IA) faceplace. Can I resuse it if I buy the single din?
Also, I bought the wiring harness for the alpine when I did the installation. Can I resuse it too?
Any difficulty on installing it or is it just like any stereo? Do I have to run a seperate power supply straight to the battery? Right now, since I am not using the watts from the Alpine, there is no need to run power straight to the battery.
Thanks in advance,
Tony

you should be able to reuse your american international dash kit as long as you dont damage it taking the alpine out..the harness will be different for the pioneer than the alpine but if you have the plugs for the nissan side (which you most likely do) then you can just cut the alpine plug off and re-wire the pioneer harness to it.. an indash is a bit more complicated than a regular radio because of the extra parts, you will have a brain that will have to be mounted either behind the dash or under a seat and there are a few extra wires to be hooked up. there is no reason to run a power wire to the battery you just hook it up to the constant 12v in your radio wiring harness.. im not sure why you would want to wire it to the battery.. only external amps require direct battery connection.. if you are not sure what you are doing id recommend getting a good shop to do it.. indash dvd players sure arent cheap and hookin up a wrong wire can fry one in a hurry... just my .02 hope that helps some.. good luck..
