Here's the list of prices.
- Aopen Pandora MiniPC - $663.97
- Xenarc 700TSV - $388.95
- Xenarc Monitor Cable - $45.00
- Xenarc Power Cable - $2.95
- AUX-NISS - $69.05
- GPS Mouse (BU-353) /Software (iGuidance) - $158.99
- Rearview Camera - $150 (but maybe less if the seller reduces price since I don't need the screen)
- USB Hub - Don't know yet, but less than $20
- DVI-to-VGA converter - Don't know yet, but less than $10
- Wireless Wi-Fi - Don't know yet, but less than $50
TOTAL: $1583.86
Of course, I didn't search for the best prices yet. The prices above are on the high side. I'm thinking I can knock down maybe 10-15% or so if I shop around. I'm thinking around $1400 for parts.

I am trying to piece together a carputer too, and my goal is to keep the interior bone stock looking from the outside. Iv had three systesm stolen...
Anyway, I want to use the 06 door, and mount the touch screen in there, thats not a problem, but I have the basic nissan head unit, and I dont want to use an FM mod for the sound. does anybody know if the base radio can accept an input adapter? or does another models radio have a cd changer input or somethging along those lines? these 06 redesigns are gonna make this hard I bet...

BTW, what do you mean the 06 door? Are you talking about in the dash (the nav cubby)? Or are you talking about door panel?

Thanks for that...
I want to use the 06 non-nav cubby door, I think that it would work good since it might block sun and let the screen be more visible... but Im not too sure about that yet, I just know i dont want to use the 03 since it doesnt really match the same.
Thanks again!

But do you have a 2006? If not, will an 06 non-nave cubby fit in that spot for the 2004/5? Also, even if it does, what's different about the 2006 vs 2004/5? I think you may have to hack the cubby in order to fit the screen, but I haven't looked into it yet.

Ah, Yes I do have an 06. Im pretty sure the differences are that the door does not fold in once the door is open, it just hindges up and sticks out horizontal. I am willing to hack the back off the cubby up to see how it looks...
I am going to use that zenarc screen, and I think that it would fit ok if I took it out of its case, but Im not sure about the adjustment buttons on it... any thoughts on that?

IC. So the 06 door is probably similar to the 04/05 in movement, but I think it may be designed differently. I remember reading (some time ago) that the 04/05 won't house the Xenarc, but the 2003 houses it perfectly after taking the Xenarc out of it's casing. I'm thinking your 2006 will have the same problem as the 04/05 did and you may have to hack away. Unfortunately, I don't think the 2003 non-nav cubby will fit your 2006, but I'm not sure. As for it not matching, I'm going to use black bumper paint to make it match better, but even if I don't, I don't mind the look.

Bubble, who are you talking to regarding the NEC DVD Writer? The Aopen Pandora has a CD/DVD already (don't really need a DVD burner for the car).
Also, where can I get the parts above for less than $1000? Are you talking those EXACT parts, or similar parts? I don't mind if they're different. The only things that I want to stick with are the Xenarc TS, the barebones Aopen Pandora/MiniPC, Carnetix CNX-P1900, and the GPS mouse (BU-353). Everything else I can shop around for different parts, as long as they're comparable.

Why dont you buy the VOOM Ampie case with a MI12000 mb cpu and then do a lcd xenarc screen or dynamix screen with autoon and off. also get the M1ATX power for auto shut down of the pc with alot of different shut down procedures...

I was considering the Ampie case before, but then I saw the Aopen. And as I mentioned before, I though this case/mobo combo would work better than the VIA EPIA M10000. What is the difference between the M10000 and the MII12000? How do they compare to the Aopen?
Also, the Carnetix CNX-P1900 seems to work well with the setup I suggested, but the M1ATX was the one I was thinking about when I was looking into the VIA M10000.
In the end, it ends up at roughly the same price (at retail at least). But can you tell me what's better about the MII12000? I haven't researched it since I only looked at the older M10000 and the Aopen.

you can get a MII12000 with ampie and M1 for about 350.00 on ebay and then load up your ram and what not. also whats cool is you can get a huge CF card and Boot your os on non moveable disk and then have all your songs and what not on a usb drive. the voom looks to be your best bet. heat transfer is awsome. and has the nice little pcmcia card slot on the side for wifi or anyting.. in car you dont really need a CDRom...

But then if I get the Aopen Pandora on mp3car.com with a Celeron M 370 (I think 1.5ghz), the price is $363, and it includes a slot-load CD/DVD drive. I guess what I'm asking is, both systems seem to cost about the same. At this point, I have to add a HDD (or CF) to both systems, plus wireless, usb hub, etc. So since the "base" cost is the same for both, which is better? Or, what are the pro's/con's for each system?
