I guess I get to claim the first thread on this unit! This is the end all double din Nav unit and it is the Z1 !!!

Pioneer has possibly the best most updated geographical software, it has NavTraffic, and this unit is just SICK. I'm sold, here's my credit card, now gimme!

 

i do want to wait a little to see if htere are any bugs and issues that can be resolved with the software upgrades...

Can you trick it to play DVD's while driving? How is the nav and sound quality? Does it have the vehicle diagnostics like the N3?
How much did it cost ya?

 

I only wish Pioneer would but some high volt preouts on their DD Nav units. I hate having to add a line driver to get increased voltage output to my amps.

 

yea thats why i ended up with the newer eclipse dd.

 

NOt installed ... I am waiting to sell my D1. I dont know about the DVD trick ..but I am not willing to hack a $2300 unit

I got it for under $1k ... industry accomodation ... kinda makes you think about markups

Nav and SQ will be identical to that of my D1 ... excellent probably.

 

Where can I find these "line drivers?"

 

anywhere, i am going to go with a z2 or d2, depending, but i will be sboosting it with prolly an oldschool phoenix gold line driver.

many of the eqs and xovers have built in line driver in them...

+1 Same here. That and watching my friend's pioneer try and route him through Albany NY to get to Toronto from Buffalo lol...
