really the only difference between the 7017 and 8017 is the 80 has dolbly 5.1 surround sound, which i dont give a crap about. so i saved myself several hundred dollars
I think I will be going with the Alpine 9861 and a screen for both the stealth factor and better sound quality with the higher preout voltage compared to all the flipouts. The Clarion, Kenwood and Pioneers typically have a meager 2 volt pre-out. That is not going to cut it once I get my Focal and subs in.

I have the Alpine IVA-D310 and i love it. I cant be more pleased. if you have any question about the alpine let me know. I have alot of add on alpine units like the PXA-H710, nav unit, sir-alp10-t and once it comes out the KCA-100BT bluetooth and KCA-620M usb interface.
