Infinity tweeters in stock sail location (no cutting)
I want opinions on what I just did...
I replaced the stock tweeters with infinity components but instead of making it flush, I re-used the stock brackets with some neoprene foam padding to secure the bigger tweeters in the stock location... from behind the stock tweeter grille
basically it almost looks stock from inside and from outside totally stock..
I know I lose the ability to aim them, but I am not a big audiophile...
any downsides to doing it this way?
I just didn't want to cut into my sail panel

That's where mine are - not bad sounding at all. At least the sound doesn't change as you move your feet or add a passenger with legs. If I could move the tweets in another four inches toward the middle I'd be happy.
I also mounted mine the same way, then i got board one day so i cut the hole and flush mounted them. It sounds better when you can tilt them toward you. not a huge difference just more balanced.

I was about to cut it for flush mounting when I realized I could do it this way...... the online tutorials tell you to flush mount... glad I did it this way...
thanks for your experiences..
Which components did you use? Do you have pics of the install? Or does anybody ELSE have infinity component install pics? I'm looking at the 50.7cs to be specific, and any pics would be great. Thanks!
