Exclamation Radar Detectors

What brand do you guys have and why did you pick that one. I am tying to get some feedback because I am going to buy one in a few days and I would like some help in selecting one. Thanks in advance.

I did a search, see link on title bar, for "Radar Detectors" and came up with these three threads with the same title as yours.

Actually the 1st topic is 2 years old and the other 2 are over a year old. I wanted to talk to people that have radar detectors now. They change like cellphones and pc's the models mentioned in 2 of the topics are not around anymore.

You can't go wrong with a v1. It competes just as well, usually better, than any other detector on the market and is the only one to use radar locator arrows to inform you where the radar source is coming from. Yea it cost more than other comparable detectors but it is also the only detector which allows you to send it back to be upgraded for a nominal fee. Thus staying current with evolving radar technology. It's also highly configurable with remote display and sound attachments avaliable for a stealth install.

I use the BEL Pro RX65. Why you ask? Imo it's the best performance at the best price. Sorry on little red arrows, but that doesn’t happen to mater to me. If you want good non-biased website to find what’s best for you, try here.

I too use the V1 and have for about 6-7 years now. In the city I really don't speed (that much) to worry about - a few seconds at a time between stop lights. If the corner drug store sets off my V1 as a false while coming to the stop light I don't pay attention.

On the highway is where I tend to speed - for long periods of time - like three and a half hours to 'Vegas at 90-95 mph. The V1 is wonderful out there giving me more than enough time to read the display and make a decission based on the readings. The CHiP like to fly airplanes and to creep up from behind ... the V1 lets me know which tactic they're using.

I have to send mine in one of these days for an upgrade but I'll have to due without it for the few weeks to the factory and back.

That was just the threads with the same title, the search returned relevant results as late as last december. Even a casual glance at the returns seem to indicate the V1 and 8500 are more popular than most as they have numerous threads about them.

Then there is this...

So you start two more threads about the same thing and it's two more threads that need to be sifted through to find relevant answerers.

No matter, the posters here seem to be returning the same three that usually come up. The V1, 8500 and RX65. If you want to add a new one to the list, check out the Belltronics STi Driver, it's only $449 +29 for an extended warranty.

UBER,

Go with the Rocky Mountain Radar/Laser Jammer. That should be right down your alley.

(Last one tested on this page)

But since you are on my ignore list and I cannot see a damn thing you type. I really don't care either way!

THose CHip in there airplanes, but radar cant help there. They use the good old white tick marks on the side of the road and they see you and time you. All the chips have todo is wait up ahead then pull you over Had that happen in Ohio was cought doing 65 in 50 zone, and no radar help see that. Most people dont even see those white markers when they drive by.

I hear great things about the V1 tho. me i currently have the solo2

V1 with new pop2 chip... I live down the street to Mike Valentine! Nuff Said

-Don

the 8500 X50 is the only other competitor... the Solo2 is nice but its refresh rate on ka/k is much slower running on batteries, and the laser is all but useless. had it in the MR2 with my V1 compared V1 eats it alive.

PS. Search Function works well
