Default Feeler: Plastic Speaker adapters...

I have a friend from another forum who made his own plastic adapters:

The material is 1" thick. Those adapters were made for his own car.

He says this about making some for our cars specifically:

"have pictures of the speaker mounting area? would be helpful if you knew things like the maximum spacer width, mounting depth attainable, things like that.

could probably get someone to take some measurements and do the thing. If I was making them for other people, I might even do things like a .200 flush mount, chamfer edges.. etc"

The advantage of these plastic guys is the fact that cutting your own mdf rings can be a pain and most of all these never get water logged.

If anyone has a close up of the mounting area in our cars that would be nice. Also I was thinking that it would be nice to be able to center the speakers in the speaker cut out on the door panels. I am sure he can make them in either 5.24 or 6.5 inch cutout.

If the brackets were angled slightly and would allow for the speaker to me mounted slightly out of the center - a bit more forward - you could fit bigger speakers.

I would also be interested if the angled adapter could be produced with an offcenter hole slightly up and back to better position in the door cavity.

Something like 2" on one side and 1/4 on the other.

I hate making those MDF rings, these look nice.

Maybe he should visit the "American Inventor" TV show with them...
