I don't have a DV4100 so I am not sure if there is a wire coming from the nav for the dimmer control. Check your manual and see. Does your nav have an internal clock? If it does then most likely the night node is switched the time of day.

I can adjust the clock on the nav, don't know if that means internal or not.
The nav dimmer I can turn it to auto/day/night. I am just trying to figure out the difference between the 8015 dimmer and the nave dimmer. Can there be only one? Or both dimmer can work together at the same time.
