Default Pics of Alpine install

I just got done with my full Alpine install including the Alpine 9857 head unit, Alpine Type R coax speakers for the rear, an Alpine V12 amp for subs, another V12 4channel for the back and and the door components. I also went with the JL Audio stealth box with the two W3 10's and the Boston Pro Series components for the doors just because they fit a whole lot better with the minimal space compared to the Type R components. Although quite a bit more expensive, it was worth not having the headaches of heavy panel modification to make them fit. Although not very custom, the two Alpine amps fit nicely in the right rear storage compartment and are easily removable for future tweaking. Again, not custom, but it fits nice and tight, its functional, and most importantly, it sounds ****. The Boston crossovers also fit nicely behind the door panels with no modification other than removing the large piece of foam. Over all, I give the ease of installation a 9 out of 10 and the sound is definatley a 10. The folks at JL did their homework on this box. Plenty of base and very tight, including fitment. Lemme know what you think.

Is the Metra Kit a dash kit? I hate the one I have now, its got gaps for days that just look terrible. I keep checking with Schosce (sp) to see what they have available, but nothing yet for the 06. Are you getting one as well? Keep me in the loop, I need the right one asap.

When you put aftermarket componets in the stock door location, can you hear any rattles when the music is turned up?

The nice thing about the Boston component kit is that they come with sound deadening foam rings for the install. It makes for a really secure, padded mount. The only rattle I have noticed is coming from the back plastics from the bass. I think some Dynomat might be in order.

Nice install! I just bought the same HU but I'm going to wait to install it until Metra or Scosche come out with a decent kit for the '06. The stealth box looks great, nice and hidden.

It really kind of amazed me not only how easy the Z's come apart but how well everything fits. Nissan really did some homework and made it easy for the weekend modifiers like myself to perform aftermarket installs. Two thumbs up!
