As the titles says... I have been looking for a new head unit to replace my Alpine 7995. (was ready to pull the trigger on an Alpine IVA-W200)

I ran across the EXAD line at a local high end shop and suprprises how they praised the unit well. In reviewing the specs they look pretty good.

What do you all think? I have not even considered JVC for a head unit but wanted some feedback and possible owner expereiences with these newer EXAD head units.

go to crutchfield.com and they give you the option to compare this unit to other. I still prefer Kendwood 8017. Top of the line. EXCELLENT video quality.

the expandability of that thing is amazing....

potentially totally digital signal transfer to the rear of the car...

 

I've had Exad in previous cars, and was very impressed with it. I'm now considering picking up the KW-AVX706 for my Z. Has anyone actually gotten one yet? Can the alpine play Mp3's off dvd's like the Exad can?

i just picked up an avn5500 off ebay for $900. might as well get nav while your at it. eclipse headunits are top notch when it comes to sound quality.

 

+1 for Alpine IVA-W200! I just wish it was 7" instead of 6.5" but I barely even use the DVD feature! Great IPOD interface. I know I'm not helping with the Exad, but since you considered the Alpine, I think you should look for a slightly used one thats discounted pretty good.

 

Thanks for your input... i actually ended up with the alpine IVA-W200 and the iPOD interface is sweet. My only complaint is the unit has 2volt pre-out. It has not sacrificed sound quality, except I had to crank the gains up on my amps to level match. oh well. Still a great unit!
