Exclamation amp suggestions...

I have diamond audio d6 components in the doors running off a diamond audio amp. I plan on purchasing a sub today. The diamond audio d6 12-inch sub. (D612D2 or D612D4). I'm looking more for quality than SPL and will be putting the sub in a custom sealed box. The specifications are as follows:

Frequency Response: 22-250Hz
Efficiency: 85.5dB
Impedance: Dual 2 Ohm or Dual 4 Ohm
RMS Power Handling: 600 Watts
Peak Power Handling: 1200 Watts
Mounting Depth: 6.2 Inch
Mounting Diameter: 12 Inch
Size : 12 Inch

I listend to the sub many months ago when I decided which I wanted, but I can't remember for the life of me, if it were a 2ohm sub or a 4 ohm sub.
So when looking for quality which sub would I pick, the 2 ohm or 4 ohm? And then what kind of amp should I be shotting for? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm really trying to order it today!

I would personally get the Dual 4 ohm. There is no quality difference between the 2. It is the way the manf does the coils to have different amp variations. Using a dual 4 ohm coil will give you a 2 ohm load which will be easy for you to find a suitable amp for.

Dual 2 ohm subs will allow you to run in either 4 ohm or 1 ohm loads to the amp...

Dual 4 ohm subs will allow you to run in either 2 ohm or 8 ohm loads to the amps.

Sound really does not depend on if it is dual 2 or dual 4...

Pick your amp. Then pick dual 2 or dual 4.

So if i pick, dual 2 ohm... then I would be wanting a mono amp? running 600-700w RMS? I am much to unkowledgeable to be picking this stuff on my own..

Or then I am understanding I could go with this amp:

Model # D6600.4
Type: Full Range
Channels: 4
RMS @ 4 Ohm: 75 x 4
RMS Mono: 300 x 2 @ 4 Ohm
THD: 0.03%
Crossovers: Low Pass, High Pass

Then pick the dual 4ohm sub, and run it mono at 600x1?

if you pick a dual 2ohm sub, ou will need one of these two:

1. stereo 2 channel amp and bridged to run at 4ohm mono

2. mono block sub amp capalble of running at 1ohm

so yes, your diamond amp oyu got picked out is capalbe of running the sub at 4ohm mono off hte rear channels

but...the idea you have of running a 4 channel amp into a single dual voice coil sub is NOT recommended. its simply, becuase you can never fully adjust the front and raerl channels on the 4 channel sub so taht they match completely, what you will end up getting is one voice coil on the sub will not be matching the movement of hte other voice coil...bad joojoo for any subwoofer.

mmmk.. well I spoke with a diamond audio rep and he seemed to think that 600rms, is not enough power to run the sub. He said he would not dip below 1000 watts.

So now I'm looking at the Dual 2-ohm Sub with an amp model D61000.1 - would run at 1000w (1 ohm) rms.

but boy are they costly...

Anyone think the above setup would be to much power, and I should go for a 10 inch sub dual voice coil at 2-ohm, (runs at 500rms) then run it at about 600 w RMS from a 600 x 1?

ps: Diamonds website strongly recommends a vented box, so i guess i will be going that way as well.
