Default stock amps and access

i am putting my amp in the stock sub location and yesterday i was taking the back apart and i think they is a small amp (its about 4 inches by 4 inches) and it was hooked to the back of the metal covering of the sub location...can i just cut this out or do i need to remove all the wires from it? also how do you get to the stock amp that is under the styrafoam in the trunk...i cant seem to get the necessary paneling off for pulling that thing out...any tips are welcome thanks

Above - the Bose subwoofer amplifier next to a real one.

Above - the stock Bose four channel amplifer.

To get the panels off in the trunk you start in the middle and work your way to either side. So pull the rubber gasket loose (NOT OFF) along the back of the trunk. Next pull up and forward a bit on the rear plastic panel ... gentle but firm upwards pressure will cause the clips to un-snap (rather than snap off!). Then look to the driver's side where you'll again pull inwards gently - look around the base of the plastic panels for any clips that need to be pulled out first. The foam ought to come out after those two panels are removed IIRC.
