Default Where the heck do I mount my radar detector?

I have a nice shiny new radar detector and I have no idea where to mount it. I so far have half-heartedly stuck it to the rear window and I had to mount it backwards and it fell off and looked awkward, and I attemped putting it on the front window behind the rear view, it was a joke since the dangling wire practically choked me then I got fustrated and gave up.. Where's a good practical place to mount it given the wacky 12v outlet positoning?

PS. Please don't say I have to hardwire it cuz It will just end up to be a dust collecter in my cellar..

If you don't want to hardwire it, go to radio shack and buy a cig lighter extension cord. But, any stereo shop should hardwire it for no more than 30 bucks.....
