JL Audio 10W1 or 10W3 ?
Does anyone have a custom speaker enclosure with JL's in it ? I cant figure out if I want to go with a set of 10w1's or 10W3's. I am going to run an E series 1400 JL amp. Looking for preferences.

Hey man, how's it going? Are you building the enclosure yourself or buying onw?
I know Nazar at Wicked C.A.S. deals exclusively with JL and the 10w3 I think. Might want to give him a call @ 603.642.4222 He can help with your decision I am sure. Tell him Brent referred you if he asks. He should be able to give you some more info on the best options on the JL stuff.
you can check him out on these boards too sn should be nazar.

I'd go with the 10w3 since the price difference isn't "that" large. It depends on the budget you're working with though. The 10w3 is a great sub while the 10w1 will compare to cheaper priced subs, such as alpine.
Depends on the power you have. On lower power the JL Audio W1 will sound better than a W3 or W6. The W1's are much more efficient but they won't take much abuse. If you have at least 200 watts RMS than go with a W3.
I have two w1's. They sound great at lower power since they are rated at 150 watts rms. You can increase the gain on it but I wouldn't recommend going over 2 db since it will start to clip and distort. If you're not looking for trunk rattling bass, then I say go for the w1's. Sound quality is very clean. I have them up for sale if you want to buy them. Just go over to the marketplace forum.
