Python 3000 alarm w/window mods
I just installed a python 3000 alarm in my 350Z. It has trunk pop, fuel door pop, headlight supervision, radio delay, radio turn on, windows up and down, shock and radar sensors, and DEI electrolumanesant window badges. If I can help anyone doing something similar let me know. The alarm is basic, but the window mods are tricky because of the auto vent when you open, and close the door.

What did you use to ID the wires? We used a tech sheet from viper and 5 wires were wrong on tech sheet. My power to window is cut off but only when alarm is armed so when i press unlock the alarm is deactivated and power restored to windows. I thought my Autopage had a lot of features, that python must have been a blast to install.

I used direct tech. for wire colors. All wires were not correct. If they were what would be the fun in that. The python 3000 has 7 outputs. If needed you can get a channel expander that adds 16 more. Talk about remote control car. For my windows I used a 530T (could have used a 529T) to roll the windows up when I arm the car. For down I first hooked them up to the 530T, but when you opened the door the windows dropped all the way. Then rolled back up upon shutting the door. So I now only use the 530T for windows up. I use a validity channel of my alarm to the unlock wire to bring the windows down from remote. I called directed tech to see what to do before I figured it out, and they said let them know what I find out. They said I probaly was going to use validity for up and down. Im glad I proved them wrong.

why would you waste a 530t for just the windows up? you could have just used a pulse timed relay to hold the door lock wire. or you could have done it like i did with a pac tr-7 timer module. It costs way less and works better than a 530t. The 530T is a great add on, but just not for this car. You should never use a 530t for any window system that drops and raises the windows when the door opens/closes.

I used a 530T because I already had it from my last car. Ive heard nightmare stories about kids fingers getting cut off using pulse timers on windows up. I dont know how it would affect the windows on the 350z though, because I think it has a built in safety cut off. Sorry I ruined your day using a 530T

You didnt offend me. Your advice is greatly appreciated. You are right. You shouldnt use a 530T or 529T on automated windows (unless you know how to trick it to work) There are many wrong ways to do things as well as many right ways. I think we are both right. Later!

I just had a Viper 790vx installed - I added my own proxy sensor, and rewired the antenna and shock sensors after seeing that the installer was a complete boob. (attach shock sensor to a loose wire, and roll up the antenna cable)
I am interested in what options I may have for window rollup/down...
I am using my "Aux" output to simply pop the fuel door.
Whats the skinny on what I could do?

Simple. Use a validity output of your alarm. (channel 3 and 4 for example) hook one output to your lock wire. Hook the other to your unlock wire. As long as you hold down your button for that channel it will either roll up or down your window. No extra parts are needed. If your doing it yourself. There is a plug with two wires comming out of your alarm. One light green (lock wire) hook this to the white w/ blue stripe coming out of the alarm (channel 3). The other wire is a light blue (unlock wire) hook this to the purple w/ black stripe coming out of the alarm (channel 4). Youll then need to go into programing which your installation manual will cover. Program outputs 3,and 4 to validity. Good luck.
