tweeter input wire?
does anyone know where the stock tweeter input wire is? i wire my headunit to the factory harness and i used what was once the stock tweeter plug as my input wire and that gave me nothing then i used the stock speaker wire as well and that gave me nothing however when i put the headunits wire to the tweeter they work anyone know what im doing wrong?
On a non-bose the tweeter uses the same connection as the door speaker, but seperates inside the door panel. The tweeter uses a small crossover circuit to remove the bass. There will be no seperate tweeter speaker line into the headunit.
yea thats what im going through right now i used both the speaker line and the tweeter line that splits and i couldnt' get any sound to my new tweeters damn this bose system

Do you have a wiring kit? If your not using one now I would recomend you acquire one (unless you have already murdered your stock wiring harness). Using the wiring harness inteded for the vehicle, it will give you all the right wire colors, purple, green, grey and white for the speakers.
If you ran new wire to the door speakers than your tweeters should still work if you did not disconnect the stock tweeter wires. Pull the door panel off to verify they are still connected all the way to the door gromet.
if you are trying to just splice in and keep the stock tweeter this will not work. you have to cut the stockers and use the same wire they were using or jsut run the tweets of an external amp. same with any system w/inline crossovers not just blose

fawq, ok then but if i amp the one line to the door and then put it into the the input tweeter in the crossover will it be too much power for the tweeters?
well what i orginally wanted to do is use my amp to power 4 of my speakers and the tweeters would be powered by the headunit

It sounds like you’re running into a wiring mismatch with the tweeter input. Stock tweeters often have built-in crossovers or rely on the factory system’s crossover setup to filter high frequencies, so connecting them directly to a head unit might bypass this. If the factory harness isn’t giving you a signal, double-check the wiring diagram for your car to ensure you’re connecting the correct wires. It might also help to test the continuity of the stock wires to confirm they’re not damaged.
