Will a double din unit fit where the stock stereo is?

This question is for a 2006 Z. I have seen people install double din units in the older Zs.

I have read an article with someone just replacing the stock unit. He did not buy any extra parts besides the metra harnest. He used the same brackets that the stereo used. Can you do the same in 2006 models? As long as it is double din?

 

If you find a dash kit for the 06 Z let us all know.

 

I heard if its doube din it will fit perfect. No extra kit needed.

 

no you definitely need a trim kit cuz the aftermarket double Dins are perfectly rectangular and the factory radio has rounded edges and is wider than aftermarket
