Left stock door speaker is fading...
I'm used to blasting my music on my stock bose system at level 20 or 21. The left door speaker is now fading. I used the balance feature to make sure it wasnt just me. You can still hear the music but at a very low level. You can't hear the high pitch sounds anymore. So it sounds very drowned out. I was wondering if this happened to anyone else. Maybe someone can point me in the right direction as to what might be wrong. Thanks.
Yeah...damn its pretty depressing too. The car only has 9k miles on it. Stereo is going already. Jeez. I'm gonna get it done under warranty probably. I was just wondering if maybe it wasnt blown and could be something minor and fixable by me.
thats so strange i thought i was the only one i just got my z and when i go to pump, not even super loud, the bose system it sounds distorted and i feel like its gunna blow at one point.. let me know what you end up doing...
Yep...sure will. Dealer will probably end up fixing under warranty. But if anyone has any info as to whether or not there is a do it yourself fix for this, I'll definitely look into it.
i have a g35 but i had this same problem. i noticed for me that it only affected the cd player. if it starts fading again, switch to the radio. if your problem is like mine was, the radio will come through loud and clear as it should.
im 95% sure its the head unit. i switched mine out to aftermarket but if i were you and i wanted to keep the stock head unit here's what i'd do.
1. switch balance to Left, switch to CD source
2. drive and show dealer that the channel fades out.
3. when it fades out completely quickly switch to FM source
4. show dealer the Left channel works fine, suggesting the wiring, speakers in the car are both ok. the problem must then logically come from the head unit. especially since the radio is fine but the cd isnt.
