Default 12" sub - faux floor install question

I'm trying to build a 12" faux floor for the Z. Would I need at least 2" between the sub's coil and bottom of the box?

Does anyone have pics of an 12" faux floor install, without carpeting? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

You'll need 1" between the back of the sub and the bottom of the box. I'll see whatI can dig up for pics.

I heard a minimum of 2", but I can only afford 1.5" in my MDF floor setup.

PICS will be great, thanks!

i have some pictures of a 10, but a 12 would have easily fit there as well...i have about 1" below the magnet, but if you want to raise the floor more, you can easily get 2"...not that i think its necceesary:

Thanks for the pics!

My sub is 6.5" + 3/4 MDF + 1" magnet space, that's about 8.25" total. So I would have the raise the floor 2 1/4" correct? I'm measuing from the top portion of the trunk (space before the strut / after the read speakers)

I got a 5.6" 12" back there without raising it at all. I think 1" clearance is enough. Also, the fake trunk liner, thin carpet and thick carpet will add nearly 1/2". I was able to get he sub flush with just using a 1/2" MDF riser ring. You may not have to raise it so much if you consider the carpet and use a ring above the box to extend the sub upward a bit.
