Default alpine w200 bypass......

i just installed the alpine head unit but i wanna be able to watch dvds while driving...they got 2 (dvd lockout)wires commin out the back of the unit..one goes to the e brake and the other goes to the foot brake...there is a sequence that you gotta do to allow the dvd player to play dvds...1) hit the foot brake and hold it 2)pull up the e-brake then put it down then pull it up again 3) let your foot of the foot brake....im assuming that if you connect the first wire to the foot brake and connect the other wire to a toggle switch you can mimmick the switch of the e-brake...but my question is ..how exactly do you wire up the toggle switch ?? do you briing the second wire from the head unit in the top along with 14v power and ground the out side of the switch ???can somebody please clairify exactly how to do this thanks....

first of all the easiest thing to do is buy the black box off ebay.. its like 60$ but all you ahve to do is wire it up and it does it for you everytime.. i dont see any reason why hooking the foot brake wire up and then hooking up a toggle to the hand brake wire wouldnt work.. you would just need to ground one end of the toggle and wire the other to the head unit wire.. should work fine..

Yea, that really is the easiest way. Programming the thing is a PITA as it never does what you want it to but after you get that done you never have to worry about it again.

the black box on ebay works nicely and you dont have to program anything... for 2 switches you need a toggle and a constant switch.. the constant switch is wired to the hand brake wire and 12v... the toggle switch wired to foot brake wire and ground.. then you just use the same sequence push toggle switch, flip constant switch on, off, on then release toggle... just buy the box its a pain to have to do that everytime you start your car.. the box will do it for you...
