Hey dvdadelante, I wanted to put this head unit in my 35th anniversary but two different shops told me I could not put it in with out losing my factory navi. That looks like the original factory nav did you have any problems integrating it to the new head unit.'

not at all... navi still work fine.. only thing is that u dont GET THE VOCAL part... if ur shop is good they'll just hook up a little speaker to the voice so u can hear it... i personally dont need the voice or the navi interupting my song to tell me something that is displayed right in front on me... so UR SHOPS ARE WRONG

 

LOVE THE RADIO... HAD THE NEW KENWOOD BUT CONTROLS AND EVERYTHING ELSE ON THAT KENWOOD WAS TOOOOO SIMPLE FOR ME... BUT THE KENWOOD SOUND QUALITY WAS VERY CLEAN WITH MY STOCK SETUP... THE PIONEER THOUGH HAS LOTS OF EQ SETTINGS, SO IM SURE IT CAN BE ADJUSTED, BASICALLY THE PIONEER JUST SHOOTS LOTS MORE POWER TO THE STOCK SPEAKERS AND BY THE TIME I GET TO 8 OR 9 ON THE VOLUME CONTROL ITS KILLING THE STOCK SPEAKERS.... IM WAITING ON A FULL SYSTEM SETUP THOUGH SO IT DOESNT BOTHER ME.. I RATE IT A 9..

Great unit! I have the same exact one installed but with that little speaker underneath my seat for my stock navi. The only thing I lost was the audio controls on my steering wheel.

 

What Yr Is Ur Z And Why Didnt I Get Any AUDIO CONTROLS ON My 2k4.5 Zr

 

thanks for your imput... interesting you rate the kenwood highly in terms of sound quality. I am a SQL type of guy who has only used Alpine for source. But recently have been dissapointed with the features and voltage output of the recent model.

Would you rate the Pioneer over the Kenwood in terms of sound quality?

 

I will put 1+ to Pioneer over Kenwood, however in most cases you end paying more as well.

 

ok my comments where based on stock speakers... example: with kenwood had it up to like 20 and the stock speakers where handling it just fine.. now with the pioneer it handles up to like 8 or 9 and speakers start sounding like crap... and i have everything in low.. no loud button or anything like that cause it starts sounding like crap.. STOCK SPEAKERS..

OTHER THEN THAT PIONEER OVER 8017 ALL DAY!!!

 

I have a 2006 ZR. The audio controls on the steering wheel only came out on the 2006 model.

Yea that is awesome, but Ill be going with the AVIC D2 so I get navigation. The only downside to that is that Ill be losing the BOSE 6 disc in dash, I love the flexibility of the 6 disk in dash. Oh well, you win/lose some.
