just got ticket...which radar detector????
V1 all the way. I can not live without those arrows. That way I know if I should be expecting them in front, side or back of me!! People that do not have the directional arrows say that they don't need it because they never experienced this luxury before IMO. It all comes down to if you can afford to spend the extra $100.
It's also nice when you actually see them approaching blinking in "front" then pass & see the CHP (waiting & seeing you with a wide smile
) then the arrows blinks on the "side" then it finally shifts pointing to the "back" with the intensity bar declining at that point.

Call Valentine Research at 1 800 331 3030 and ask for a returned V1 and you will get 10% off the retail price of $399. It will be the latest version V1.8 POP2 w/ Euro-mode and 3.826 firmware and that comes with all the accessories and a 1 year warranty.

I'm tired of these V1 worshippers. I have the Bel Pro RX65 which is just as good, if not better. The only thing it lacks is the directional arrows. If it tells you that you're gettin radarred, you're gonna slow down anyway. No need to see where it's coming from. Also, I heard Bel and Passport are now the same company so RX65 and X50 are basically the same thing.

Don't forget about the legality of radar jammers.
http://guysoflidar.com/faq.html#2
"Are Radar Jammers Legal?
In the US, Federal Law bans the use of Radar Jammers. Their use is considered "malicious interference" which is prohibited by the Communications Act of 1934."

If you are looking for the best go with the Escorst. It is the combo SR7 and ZR3. Once you have one of these installed you will nothave to worry about anything ever again. Not only that but you wont have a huge ugly brick in your winshield
In the Z, you don't mount the V1 in the windshield. You mount it in the rear of the car in the headliner. It sees very clearly forward and back from that point and is well out of sight. You simply mount the remote display somewhere and that's it. Out of sight out of mind.
I am leaning toward Escort 8500 x50. there's one on ebay for $279 shipped. I read an radar shootout article and they say this one is as good as V1. I dont wanna pay $500 bucks for V1...too expensive. What you guys think?
