Took me a while to figure out why this thread got bumped... but I am very pleased with the clarion speaker. $85, well worth it. Using pink noise generator, I set the center gain a lot lower than what it should be. I've done this with my home theater system as well. I prefer the corners to do more work, since it provides a richer dynamic when the music pans. With it too high, it's painfully obvious that the center speaker is working. With my gain settings, I have no clue where the speakers are. I'll look at my steering wheel and swear that the music is coming from there. I'll look over the shifter and swear there is a speaker there.

However, it made for an ugly install since its only 1/2 din. I had to fabricate a 1/2 din cover to cover the empty slot. It is also a 1/4 inch thinner than typical din sized units. That really pissed me off, since i had to cover up the side 1/8inch gap on either side. big enough to look through and see all the crap behind the HU.

thanks for the input. I went today and looked at the srk601. I would like to hear it but the dealer didn't have it hooked up. I too enjoy home theatre and know what you are saying about the center channel. We have the 7.1 setup in our house so I definitely want more sound than I am getting in my car. Thanks again for your opinion.

The sunglass holder is another great spot for a center channel , you would have to take the door cover off though.

You might have gotten out a trifle bit cheaper with just this amp... Phoenix Gold Amp I dunno wish I had seen this post earlier

That would have made your set up ultra stealth lol
